Frequently Asked Questions

Who owns the copyright in your source code and game engines?

The copyright in my source code and game engines is owned by Big Room Ventures Ltd., the company that owns the flashgamecode.net website.

Who owns the copyright in the games I create using your source code or game engines?

Big Room Ventures Ltd. retain copyright in our source code and game engines but make no claim for copyright on designs, sounds, actionscript code or any other assets that are created by you and used in addition to our property when creating your game.

How should I credit you in games I create using your source code or game engines?

If you have used one of our game engines then you must include our copyright notice - "Game Engine © Big Room Ventures Ltd. 2007". In addition, if your game includes credits to its creators, that game must include the credit "Game Engine by Big Room Games" with the other credits.

If you have only used some of the free classes that we give away you are not required to credit us, but if you wish to credit us please include the items "Additional code © Big Room Ventures Ltd. 2007" and/or "Additional code by Big Room Games" as appropriate.

What are the licence arrangements?

Free actionscript code distributed through this website is subject to the MIT licence, which basically means that you can do almost anything you like with the code provided you leave our copyright and licence details within the code. This licence is included at the top of the source code files.

Free game engines are subject to a modified version of this licence that also requires you to place a copyright notice in games created using the game engine.
